Police: Beer bottle bashing lands woman in jail

A Unicoi woman was arrested early Saturday morning on an accusation that she hit someone with a beer bottle at a Boones Creek convenience market.

Jessica C. Bennett, 30, 135 Mountain View Road, was charged with aggravated assault.

Police said Bennett was arrested at 1:50 a.m. after she struck another person in the head with a beer bottle at 2696 Boones Creek Road.

Bennett was jailed in the Washington County Detention Center on $5,000 bond pending a Sessions Court appearance Aug. 9.
