Piney Flats DUI wreck prompts search, foot chase through field

PINEY FLATS — An alleged DUI wreck prompted a search for the driver through several fields Wednesday evening in Piney Flats.

Police say they were speaking with the resident of a nearby home when a man was spotted running from a building. After a foot chase across the road and into another field, the suspect was apprehended.

According to a report at the Sullivan County Sheriff's Office, at about 7:40 p.m. a deputy was dispatched to a wreck at 765 Warren Road. A red SUV was found in the field, while a witness relayed the driver had ran over a nearby hill.
